* Flash Flood Warning for... Iberia Parish in south central Louisiana... Southeastern Lafayette Parish in south central Louisiana... West Central St. Martin Parish in south central Louisiana... North Central St. Mary Parish in south central Louisiana... Northeastern Vermilion Parish in southwestern Louisiana...

* Until 700 PM CDT.

* At 507 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 4 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Doppler radar. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Lafayette, New Iberia, Abbeville, Catahoula, St. Martinville, Jeanerette, Kaplan, Avery Island, Intracoastal City, Broussard, Youngsville, Erath, Delcambre, Maurice, Loreauville, Acadiana Regional Airport, Coteau, Cade, Lydia and Jefferson Island. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. FLASH FLOOD...RADAR INDICATED EXPECTED RAINFALL...1-2 INCHES IN 2 HOURS

* At 9:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 6.3 feet.

* Flood stage is 6.0 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:00 AM CDT Tuesday was 6.3 feet.

* Forecast...The river is expected to remain steady above flood stage at 6.2 feet.

* Impact...At 6.0 feet, Flood stage. The city dock will be under water. Water will cover the lower end of Belleview Front Street in Berwick.
