Lafayette, LA (KADN) -- The Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team is trying to extend its school-record 11 game winning streak all the way to 13 with two wins against Little Rock to end the season. The Cajuns have already clinched the Sun Belt Conference West Division, but these ladies are determined to win the Sun Belt regular-season title overall.
"I think it is always a statement when you beat a team like Little Rock and what they bring to the Sun Belt over the years," head coach Garry Brodhead said. "A Joe Foley coached team is a difficult team to get two wins against but it could be a big statement for our program. We've had some wins against them in the past but not two in the row like that. This will be a big statement to say hey this program is moving in the right direction. I think it can help us going into the tournament to be not overconfident but a little more confident.
To win the Sun Belt the Cajuns need to beatout Troy. Louisiana is 11-1. Troy is 13-2. To win the series against Little Rock, Coach Brodhead says the cajuns need to be aggressive offensively, play good defense, and rebound.
