Waitr Offers Free Delivery to Celebrate EatLafayette

Returns for Fifth Year as Presenting Sponsor for EatLafayette

LAFAYETTE, LA – Now in its 16th year, EatLafayette by Lafayette Travel is excited to welcome back Waitr as its presenting sponsor. This year, in addition to its presenting sponsorship role, Waitr is also making it even easier for everyone to eat local by offering free delivery with the promo code EATLAFAYETTE*.

“We are grateful that Waitr has come on board as the presenting sponsor for EatLafayette for the fifth straight year” says Ben Berthelot, President/CEO of Lafayette Travel. “I remember when they first approached me as a start-up asking if we could find a way to partner.” continued Berthelot. “Since then, Waitr has grown well beyond a start-up and has continued to increase its financial support to help ensure our mission of providing value for restaurants within the greater Lafayette area is achieved every year. Beyond Waitr’s monetary contribution, we are especially excited that Waitr is offering free delivery service for EatLafayette restaurants this year at no charge to the restaurant.”

Waitr’s support is critical now more than ever. With the onslaught of the current pandemic, the National Restaurant Association reports four in 10 restaurants have closed as a result. The struggles of our local restaurants during this tough time are well documented and it’s the mission of EatLafayette to support them as much as possible. As a result, EatLafayette waved registration fees this year and opened submissions to all locally-owned restaurants in Lafayette Parish. In the past, registration fees in addition to sponsor dollars were put towards advertising efforts to promote EatLafayette restaurants.

“We believe it’s important to support our local restaurant partners and communities – especially right now – and we’re pleased to be a major participant for the fifth straight year,” says Ryan Naquin, Lafayette Manager for Waitr. “With its focus on our local culture and the flavors that distinguish the area, EatLafayette is a great annual event.”

*Customers need only to visit EatLafayette.com/Waitr, click the restaurant image of their choice, select the Waitr icon, place their order, and enter the code EATLAFAYETTE at checkout to apply the free delivery. The offer is valid on all orders with a minimum subtotal of $15 and is good for up to $10 toward the delivery fee. The offer has no cash value and cannot be combined with any other offer or discount. One per person per household. The offer expires August 31.
