Traffic Stop Leads to the Arrest of Ville Platte Man; Firearm and Narcotics Found

Deputies stopped a vehicle for traffic violation on La 26 near LA 102 in Jennings on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. During the traffic stop deputies questioned the driver, Benjamin David Ardoin who appeared to be under the influence.

A consent to search was obtained by deputies and the search revealed drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine.

Benjamin David Ardoin, 34, of  Ville Platte, LA was arrested and booked into the parish jail on charges, improper lane usage, possession of cds II, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearm with cds and obstruction of justice. Ardoin is being held in the parish jail awaiting bond.

A passenger Dalton Matthew Jeans, 39, of  Lake Charles was issued citation and released for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cds IV and possession of cds II.
