UPDATE: The Victim and Suspect of Wednesday’s afternoon shooting on E. Maple Avenue have been identified.The victim is identified as a 20 year old male of Eunice. The victim has undergone surgery for his injuries and is listed in stable condition. The suspect is a 17 year old male juvenile. Had this incident occurred last year, before the state’s laws changed, the suspect could have been charged as an adult and his identity made known. The suspect got into a vehicle and drove away from the scene in a white 4 DOOR 2006 Buick Lucerne CXL with a primer black Front bumper and a tan left front fender, bearing LA License number133EJF. The shooter is still at large. Charges are pending further investigation. Eunice Police are asking anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect or this vehicle to please call the Eunice Police Department at 337-457-2626.
KADN/KLAF- Eunice Police are in search of a 17 year old male suspect accused of pistol whipping and shooting a male victim Wednesday afternoon. The incident happened outside of a convenience store in the 400 block of East Maple Avenue. Police CHief Randy Fontenot tells News15 that an argument began between the 17 year old suspect and the victim inside the store. It then escalated in the parking lot where the victim was shot once through the hand and in the abdomen. The victim was transported to the Eunice Hospital and later airlifterd to a second medical facility. The suspect is not being identified because he is a juvenile.
