Lafayette Police Investigators have arrested 24 year old Marco Andrus of Lafayette, La. in the overnight shooting that occurred in the 2900 block of Northeast Evangeline Thruway.

LAFAYETTE, La. - Lafayette Police Investigators have arrested 24 year old Marco Andrus of Lafayette, La. in the overnight shooting that occurred in the 2900 block of Northeast Evangeline Thruway.Marco Andrus was charged with one count of second degree murder and one count of soliciting for prostitution. The weapon used in the incident was recovered. The victim has been identified as 32 year old Jacob Perry of Lafayette La.

The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is urged to call the Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.

At approximately 3:20 am, Lafayette Police responded to the 2900 block of Northeast Evangeline Thruway regarding a shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 32 year old male deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. According to Lafayette Police investigators, the suspect and victim became involved in an argument when the suspect produced a handgun and shot the victim. The suspect was located and taken into custody. Investigators with the Lafayette Police Department are asking anyone with information about the homicide to call Lafayette Police or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS. The investigation remains ongoing.
