Two St. Martinville Residents Arrested On Multiple Drug and Weapons Charges

St. Martinville, LA-Sheriff Becket Breaux announces that early this morning, September 25, 2020, following a lengthy investigation regarding suspected illegal drug activity; Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a Narcotics
Search Warrant at a residence in the 2000 block of Catahoula Hwy., St. Martinville, LA.

Following the execution of the warrant, Deputies located suspected marijuana, suspected promethazine/codeine, suspected crack cocaine; suspected cocaine, MDMA, and a digital scale. They also located two firearms, items consistent with a clandestine laboratory, Six SNAP EBT Cards (that did not belong to either suspect), and a large amount of U.S. Currency.

At the culmination of the investigation, Deputies arrested Codie J. James, 41, St. Martinville, LA., and Jardell Olivier, 33, St. Martinville, LA., and charged them as follows:

LA. R.S. 40:966C-Schedule 1 Narcotics (All Other)
LA. R.S. 14:68.2–Unauthorized Use of Food Stamps-(6 counts)
LA. R.S. 40:1023 Prohibited Acts-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Following their arrests, they were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges. At the time of this release, no bonds had been set.
