UPDATE 4/13/2021- Two people are hospitalized and one person is under arrest following an early morning shooting in Lafayette.
Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were called out to the 100 block of Parklane Rd. at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, the first victim was located inside a residence suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was then transported to a local hospital for treatment.
As the investigation continued, a camper was located on the property. Deputies discovered a second victim was inside, along with the suspect.
At this point, LPSO Negotiators made contact with the suspect, urging him to surrender. SWAT operators made entry into the camper and were able to rescue the second shooting victim to be transported for medical care. Negotiators then continued to speak with the suspect, who subsequently surrendered and was detained.
David Kissel, 42, was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder.
Both victims are currently listed in stable condition. This investigation remains ongoing.
Moss street from 4600-5000 block is now open according to officers.
According to Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Captain Mowell, Officers were working a shooting in the 100 block of Park Lane in Lafayette. Two people have been transported to area hospitals with gun shot wounds and a third person is in custody. Moss street from 4600-5000 block is currently closed.
