LAFAYETTE, La.  – Just in time for the start of the school year, 13 Chick-fil-A Team Members in the Lafayette community have been awarded a total of $30,000 in scholarships by local Chick-fil-A Operator, John Arton. Team Members can apply their scholarships to any area of study at any accredited institution, furthering Chick-fil-A’s long-standing commitment to education and helping restaurant Team Members achieve their academic dreams.

Through its annual Remarkable Futures Scholarships initiative, Chick-fil-A, Inc. awarded $15,000 to six of Arton’s Team Members. Arton matched the amount to award seven additional Team Members scholarships to follow their dreams and further their education. Since being selected to open the first Chick-fil-A in the Lafayette community, Arton has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships to his Team Members.

“I am humbled to play a small part in the success of my Team Members’ futures and support their professional and personal development inside and outside of my restaurant,” said Arton, the local restaurant Operator of Chick-fil-A Arcadiana Mall, Chick-fil-A Ambassador Caffery and Chick-fil-A Louisiana Avenue at I-10. “These Team Members make a difference every day serving the Lafayette community, and I look forward to seeing them continue to achieve their academic goals and make a positive impact wherever they go.”

Chick-fil-A’s scholarships initiative offers unique benefits to restaurant Team Members:

Up-front payment: Chick-fil-A scholarships are awarded to recipients up front and can be directly applied to tuition costs, without requiring tuition reimbursement. This scholarship initiative is one of the highest unrestricted per-employee scholarship investments in the quick service restaurant industry.
Applicable at any school, college or university: Scholarships can be applied in any area of study at any accredited institution of the Team Member’s choice, including two- or four-year colleges and universities, online programs or vocational-technical schools.
Employment requirements: There is no requirement of hours worked or length of service to qualify.

This year, nearly 400 additional scholarships were funded through the sale of Chick-fil-AÒ Bottled Sauces, which became available nationwide in 2021. With Chick-fil-A Bottled Sauce sales, 100% of the Chick-fil-A, Inc. royalties go toward the Remarkable Futures Scholarships initiative.

Since 1970, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has awarded more than $112 million in scholarships to more than 67,000 restaurant Team Members. To be eligible for a scholarship or educational assistance, applicants must be restaurant Team Members employed by an independent, franchised Chick-fil-A restaurant business, a Chick-fil-A, Inc.-operated restaurant, or an S. Truett Cathy (STC) brand restaurant.
