Lafayette,LA - Thousands of people have decided to let their regular jobs go and start their own businesses during the pandemic.
Business owner Albertina Cleary told me it was the best decision she has ever made. "During the pandemic, I felt it was no better time to start my business. "
As many businesses still having now hiring signs in the window… more than 4.3 million americans have quit their jobs. Cleary says they may be burned out and have found a new way to make their own money.
"Honestly, because some people were like, oh I can make a way without working and just decide whether there are other people who decided to start a business and now they are flourishing."
Starting in 2017, selling sunglasses and now clothes, business owner she knew that working a regular 9-5 was not for her anymore. "I was becoming more passionate about my own business and I would have put my own business on hold and have to go to work and it would just take a lot of my time for my own dream."
Cleary took a gamble, betting on herself… but the fear of failing was the first thought that came to her mind. "You don't know if people are going to support your dream your brand. leaving my 9-5, I knew for sure every two weeks i was going to get paid. Some days you don't get paid, some days you don't make anymore."
It paid off in the long run. When asked if she'd do it all over again, cleary says without a heartbeat. "I'm now able to be more present in my sons life or anything that's happening in school. I am able to go and I don't have to wait for my manager to let me off.
She has found prosperity, more money and a better life balance. "Taking that risk and leaving my 9-5 where I was just content, I'm happy to be here. i'm happy to go to work. I'm happy to interact with my customers.
Cleary also told me that others may be scared to venture off and start their own business. You never know how things may turn out until you try. To find out more about her business you ca find her on facebook and Instagram at Naclearfashioncloset.
