CROWLEY, La. - The International Rice Festival, held annually every third full weekend in October, is one of Louisiana's oldest and largest agricultural festivals. This year the 84th International Rice Festival will be held October 14-17, 2021.
The first festival was held on October 5, 1937 as the National Rice Festival; it was renamed the "International Rice Festival" in 1946 when the festival was resumed after a hiatus during World War II (1942–1945).
The celebration is held to honor the rice industry and its hardworking farmers. It has brought attention to the importance of rice as a food and emphasizes its place in the world.
The 84th International Rice Festival will take place October 14-17, 2021.
Chris Ardoin will be performing October 14, 2021 at 10:00p.m.
Cupid will perform on October 14th at 8:15p.m
Sideshow will perform on October 14th at 8:30 p.m.
Bubba Hebert will perform on October 14th at 6:30p.m.
Leroy Thomas & The Zydeco Roadrunners will kick off the festival at 6:30p.m on October 14, 2021.
The 84th International Rice Festival has chosen Ryan Trahan as the Grand Parade Grand Marshal according to Gilles Piron, the 84th IRF President and The 84th International Rice Festival will recognize Phillip Lamartiniere as the 2021 Farmer of the Year. The parade will take place in Downtown Crowley on Saturday, October 16, 2021.
