Suspect Arrested in Shooting on E. Vermilion Street

At approximately 11 a.m., Lafayette Police responded to a reported shooting at a residence in the 900 block of E. Vermilion Street.

At approximately 11 a.m., Lafayette Police responded to a reported shooting at a residence in the 900 block of E. Vermilion Street.

When officers arrived, they located a 32 year old male victim inside of the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the mid-torso area.

Officers located a possible male suspect on scene and he was detained.

According to investigators, the victim and the suspect engaged in an altercation at the door of the residence. The suspect fell outside and discharged his weapon, striking the victim through the door.

The victim was transported to an area hospital and is listed in stable condition.

The suspect Bradley Marshall, 55, of Lafayette, was charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

The investigation remains ongoing.
