"There are many famalies in Lafayette that are low income and cannot afford the prices of a regular camp so I wanted to offer this camp free of cost to the parents"

Cory Levier believes in offering affordable camp options and providing children with experiences he wishes he had as a child....as resources are slim due to the Covid-19 pandemic.... Levier understands the issues that come along with poverty.

"There are certain types of pain that come along with not having money poverty breeds a whole lot of things anger mistrust rebellion and all of these things these kids are going through as well with there parents."

For a safe camp experience, the CDC encourages camp administrators to teach and reinforce mask wearing for campers.
However, in Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards lifted mask mandates for schools and summer camps.

"Mask will be required in educational settings until the end of the current academic semester beginning with the summer programs for this year each school district will set it's own mask policies."

Levier hopes to see the summer camp grow over the years to come.

"So the future of this program is going to be great because why the kids that make it through this program there going to want to come back and help someone else the same way I wanted to"
