Ochsner Lafayette General Stroke Screening Event Canceled

Due to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases, Ochsner Lafayette General will unfortunately be canceling the annual stroke screening event  scheduled for Saturday, November 21 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Burdin Riehl.

"We’d like to remind everyone of stroke signs and symptoms, following the acronym B.E.F.A.S.T."

Stroke signs and symptoms that should prompt patients to call 9-1-1 for emergency medical attention are:
B--balance, sudden loss of balance, severe dizziness
E--eyes, sudden loss of vision
F--facial drooping
A--arm or leg weakness, numbness
S--slurred speech, unable to speak, confusion
T--time to get to the hospital.
