Severe weather is very likely later today. Most of Acadiana is in a Level 3 (Enhanced) risk for severe weather, while areas north of I-10 are in a Level 4 (Moderate) risk. Tornadoes, damaging winds, and hail are all possible with storms this afternoon. Storms will likely begin forming after 1 p.m. and carry on until the front passes through around 7 p.m. High temperatures near 80 degrees will provide plenty of energy for these storms to tap into. Later tonight, the front sweeps through and clears out the area. Temperatures fall into the 40s and 50s behind the front.

Today: Afternoon severe threat. Storms could produce tornadoes, damaging winds, and hail. Windy. Wind gusts over 30 miles per hour likely. High: 80.

Tonight: Skies clear. Cooler and drier. Low: 51.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. Comfy cool. High: 67.

Beyond today, quieter weather settles in the region. Temperatures during the day will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s and 40s during the night. Our next rain chances holds off until the middle of next week.
