State of Local Emergency Declared for Iberia Parish.

NEW IBERIA, La. - Due to Iberia Parish facing the potential threat of widespread damage, injury, and/or loss of life or property from severe weather in the form of rain, storm surge and flooding caused by Tropical Storm Nicholas, Iberia Parish President M. Larry Richard has declared a State of local Emergency.

The local emergency declaration was issued on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 12:00pm. The state of emergency will continue until terminated.

All emergency operations plans will be activated and Iberia Parish, Office of Emergency Preparedness and Homeland Security are designated as the point of contact.
