St. Martinville Man Resident Arrested On Numerous Drug Charges

Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Cypress Island Hwy., after observing the vehicle commit a traffic violation on March 10, 2021.

St. Martinville, LA -Sheriff Becket Breaux announced that Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Cypress Island Hwy., after observing the vehicle commit a traffic violation on March 10, 2021. Upon the driver exiting the vehicle, Deputies observed him throw what appeared to be a hand rolled cigarette onto the ground. Upon further examination, it was determined to be a hand rolled cigar containing suspected marijuana. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted and Deputies located suspected crack cocaine and over $900.00 in U.S. Currency. A narcotics investigation was initiated and through the course of the investigation, the driver, who was identified as Hubert Wiltz, 60 of St. Martinville, agreed to consent to search his residence.

Following a search of the residence, Deputies located marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine, hydrocodone, Amphetamines, Vyvance, Ecstasy, Oxycodone, Carisoprodol, Tramadol, Promethazine, drug paraphernalia, along with additional items used for the manufacture and distribution of illegal narcotics.

At the culmination of the investigation, he was arrested and charged as follows:

LA. R.S 40:967A-Manufacture; Distribution; PWITD-Schedule II Narcotics (Hydrocodone) 3 counts

LA. R.S 40:967A-Manufacture; Distribution; PWITD; Schedule II Narcotics (Amphetamines) 10 counts

LA. R.S 40:967A –Manufacture; Distribution; PWITD—Schedule II Narcotics (Vyvanse)

LA. R.S 40:967C-Possession-Schedule I Narcotics MDMA (Ecstasy)

LA. R.S 40:967C-Possession-Schedule II Narcotics (Oxycodone)

LA. R.S 40:969A-Manufacture; Distribution-Schedule IV (Carisoprodol)

LA. R.S 40:969C-Prohibited Acts, Schedule IV, Penalties (Tramadol) 2counts

LA. R.S 40:970A-Manufacture; Distribution-Schedule V (Promethazine)

LA. R.S 40:1060.13-Sale, Distribution, or Possession of Legend Drug

Following his arrest, he was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charges and at the time of this release, no bond had been set.
