IBERIA PARISH, La. (KADN) - A Shreveport man is behind bars after leading Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office deputies on a high speed chase Thursday morning.
According to an IPSO release, a deputy spotted a truck reported stolen from a St. Martin Parish truck stop about 10 a.m. At the time, it was traveling north on LA 675.
When the deputy tried to stop the vehicle, the driver hit the gas, getting on US 90 headed west at more than 90 miles per hour.
The suspect, later identified as Jeremiah Moore of Shreveport, then cross the median and onto US 90 South Service Road. He eventually turned onto South Freetown Road, drove off the road and abandoned the truck behind some homes.
Deputies found Moore hiding in a nearby sugarcane field.
Moore was booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on charges of illegal possession of stolen things, aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated obstruction of a highway of commerce, operating a vehicle while license is suspended and parole violation.
As of Thursday afternoon, bond had not been set.
