Shooting Incident in the 600 Blk of Rim Road

On July 9, 2020 at approximately 2:30 pm, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a disturbance involving a firearm in the 600 Blk of Rim Road.

Lafayette, La. – On July 9, 2020 at approximately 2:30 pm, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a disturbance involving a firearm in the 600 Blk of Rim Road.
Once on scene, officers found one victim suffering from a gunshot injury to the upper torso. First Responders quickly began to administer first aid measures. Those efforts were taken over a short time later by Acadian Ambulance personnel. The victim was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
A suspect was taken into custody, and transported to the Lafayette Police Department where he was interviewed. At the conclusion of the interview, the suspect, Mr. Lane Domec of Lafayette, 20, was charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. He was transported and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
This investigation is ongoing.
