Safe Driving Tips for Severe weather

It is important to remember roads can be more dangerous than it appears.

Severe weather can be dangerous especially when driving. Here in St. Mary Parish you can see a lot of flooding. One franklin woman tells me this isn't usually a problem for her.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is urging everyone not to drive unless absolutely necessary during severe weather. It is also important to know speed limits are for ideal weather conditions so people should slow down.
Another Franklin resident says flooding in this area is common and buying a house near water isn't ideal.

It is important to remember roads can be more dangerous than it appears, plus your vehicle's reaction time will be much slower when it's raining.
