Scott Fire Department Responds to House Fire; One Dead

Just after midnight Scott Fire Department was dispatched to a residential fire in the 200 block of Roger Road.

UPDATE( 12/15/2020 12:50PM): On Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at 12:14 a.m., Scott Fire Department was dispatched to a residential fire in the 200 Block Roger Road. Upon arrival, firefighters observed a brick home engulfed in flames. Minutes after arriving, the roof collapsed. As firefighters advanced to the structure in an effort to extinguish the fire, the 63-year-old male resident was located. As a result of damage to the structure, investigators continue to identify the exact cause of the fire. Firefighters from Carencro, Judice and Lafayette responded to assist with the fire. Investigators with Lafayette Fire Department and the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office are conducting the investigation


Just after midnight Scott Fire Department was dispatched to a residential fire in the 200 block of Roger Road.

Scott Fire Department says there was one confirmed fatality as a result of the fire. State Fire Marshal and Lafayette Fire investigators are still investigating the cause of the fire and will be at the location a majority of the morning.
