KADN/KLAF - On Saturday, Dec. 19, at 6:15 p.m., Scott Fire Department was dispatched to a commercial fire in the 200 Block of Jacob’s Run. Upon arrival, firefighters observed heavy smoke emitting from a large commercial building.

Firefighters forced entry into the structure and located a large offshore survey boat on fire.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the boat, before it spread to the building.

The fire was determined to be accidental in nature, cause by an electrical short.

The boat suffered major damage, however damage to the structure was minimal.

Lafayette, Duson and Judice responded to assist.
