ROAD CLOSURE: South Lewis Street, New Iberia

The City of New Iberia advises motorists that beginning Wednesday, October 20 at 1PM, the north and south bound lane of South Lewis Street will be completely closed to traffic between the City limits and Admiral Doyle Drive (LA 674) in New Iberia, Iberia Parish.

NEW IBERIA, La. - The City of New Iberia advises motorists that beginning Wednesday, October 20 at 1PM, the north and south bound lane of South Lewis Street will be completely closed to traffic between the City limits and Admiral Doyle Drive (LA 674) in New Iberia, Iberia Parish.

This will be done in order to further advance the completion of the asphalt repair.

This closure is located is approximately 0.7 miles north of the intersection of Weeks Island Road (LA 83) and is necessary to allow for the asphalt repair of South Lewis Street between the City Limits and Admiral Doyle Drive (LA 674).

This section will not be open to traffic. The closure will last until Friday, October 22 at 8PM. North Bound Detour Route will be Weeks Island Road (LA 83) to Center Street (LA 14) back to Admiral Doyle Drive (LA 674).

Detour signage will be in place.South Bound Detour Route will be Admiral Doyle Drive (LA 674) to Center Street (LA 14) to Weeks Island Road (LA 83). South Lewis between Frankie Street, and the city limits will be open to local traffic only and will be enforced by the New Iberia Police Department.
