UPDATE 6-10-2021: A St. Landry Parish Crime Stoppers TIP Wednesday led to the arrest of Brian Keith "B.K." Thomas, Jr., on an arrest warrant charging him with Attempted First Degree Murder. The incident occurred on April 29 of this year near the intersection of W. Maple Ave. and S. Second Street.
Eunice Police had requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshal's Office in locating Thomas. Once the Crime Stoppers tip was received giving the location of Thomas, Eunice police notified the U.S. Marshal's Office.
The Marshal's Office assisted by Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office and Lake Charles Police were able to locate Thomas and arrested him on the arrest warrant., Thomas was transported by Eunice Police and booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail.
UPDATE: Eunice Police have identified the shooting suspect of the April 29, 2021 shooting that occurred near the intersection of S. Second Street and W. Maple Ave. An arrest warrant has been issued for Brian K. "BK" Thomas, 19, of Ville Platte, LA.
He is wanted on a charge of Attempted First Degree Murder. He is to be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact local enforcement or the Eunice Police Department at (337) 457-2626.
(KADN)- Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot confirms for News15 that his agency is investigating a shooting that happened just after 1 p.m. outside Brownie's Shop Rite at the intersection of West Maple Avenue and South Second Street.
Fontenot says Jeremiah Bell of Eunice was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries and they're investigating whether a second victim fled the scene on foot.
Minutes after responding to the shooting, a suspect was located and taken into custody. Bryson Poullard, age 19, of Eunice, was later charged as a principle to Attempted First Degree Murder. The suspected involvement of narcotics resulted in the charge being First Degree. The Eunice City Marshal's Office assisted in the arrest and investigation.
The investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
