Those are the words from crowley mayor tim monceaux after the announcement crowley police chief allen jimmy broussard was charged with the following
Four counts of malfesance while in office two counts of obstruction of justice and one charge of tampering with public records. Officials say the police chief committed all of these crimes between January 1st and October 30th in Acadia parish.
I spoke with the mayor monceaux about the indictment. He says a succesion plan has not yet been put in place and he plans to leave this in the hands of the justice system.
All six charges are felonies.
For the obstruction of justice charges, the indictment states broussard tampered with evidence to distort a criminal investigation. Which criminal investigation this is related to has yet to be released. The indictment also states that he tried to injure public records.
Earlier today broussard bonded out. I reached out to his attorney Bill Goode but have not received a response.
