OPELOUSAS, La. (KADN) - Opelousas Police are looking for the man they say shot a woman multiple times Wednesday afternoon.

OPD said they're looking for Donvonta Mallet of Opelousas.

Police were called to the area of Daly and Leo Streets around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon. There, investigators found a woman with multiple gunshot wounds.

She was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.

According to OPD, Mallet and the woman were in an argument before the shooting happened.

The woman's male acquaintance was also involved and injured. Investigators said Wednesday's argument was spurred by a prior disagreement between Mallet and the male.

Opelousas Police ask that anyone with information about the shooting or Mallet's location call the department at (337) 948-2500 or St. Landry Crime Stoppers at (337) 948-TIPS.
