LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) – The National Transportation Safety Board has released new documents regarding its investigation into a December 2019 fatal plane crash in Lafayette.

Five passengers died and another was severely injured in the small plane crash on December 28, 2019, shortly after leaving Lafayette Regional Airport. They were headed to Atlanta to watch LSU play in the Peach Bowl.

Also injured: two people inside nearby buildings and one person in their car.

Among the docket items released are a weather study, compilation of emails the NTSB received by witnesses, and a toxicology report for the pilot. Photos and drone video released shows the debris path from the crash.

Also in the documents is the Lafayette Police Department report about the crash. The writer wrote that the lone survivor “stated that all he remembered was that the plane went straight up and then straight down and he did not know what happened.”
