ST. MARY PARISH, La. (KADN) - A Morgan City man is facing attempted first-degree murder charges following Friday (October 1) evening shooting in Amelia.
According to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to a business on Duhon Boulevard.
There, one man was found injured in the incident. The wound was non-life threatening.
Codey Smith was developed as a suspect. He was found and arrested in Lafourche Parish. He was brought back to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for book.
Smith is charged with attempted first-degree murder, violation of a protective order, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, contributing to the deliquency of juveniles and obstruction of justice.
As of Monday afternoon, Smith remained behind bars on a $245,500 bond.
