Man Arrested for West Grolee Street Shooting

Officers with the Lafayette Parish Sheriffs office assisted investigators with the Opelousas Police Department by executing an arrest warrant on Edward Antoine of Lafayette, La.

Officers with the Lafayette Parish Sheriffs office assisted investigators with the Opelousas Police Department by executing an arrest warrant on Edward Antoine of Lafayette, La. on the charges of:

Attempted Second Degree Murder
Felon in possessions of a firearm

Antoine was processed and turned over to Opelousas Police Investigators, who booked  Antoine into the St. Landry Parish Jail. Antoine’s arrest stems from an August 11, 2020 shooting that occurred in the 700 blk. of West Grolee St. that occurred after the victim and Antione were involved in a heated argument over a parking dispute. The victim suffered from a serious injury as a result of the shooting.
