LAFAYETTE, La. - Carencro Police have arrested and booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail a man accused of vehicular homicide who was originally only issued a summons on October 2, 2021.

40-year-old Carleton Greene is being held on a total bond of 60,000 dollars on charges of vehicular homicide and first-offense drunk driving.

He was issued a summons almost two weeks ago after allegedly hitting and killing 51-year-old pedestrian Timothy Decuir of Maurice on the Northwest I-49 service road.

Carencro Police Chief David Anderson originally said after the incident that Green had a blood-alcohol content nearly twice the legal limit at the time of the crash.

Anderson tells News15 his agency recently completed its investigation, leading to Greene being arrested and booked Tuesday October 12, 2021.
