Major Non-Fatal Traffic Crash Causes Delays on I-10

On Sat., Jan. 9 at 8:40 a.m., Scott Fire Department was dispatched to a major vehicle accident with entrapment at the 96-mile marker on Interstate 10.

Scott, La. - On Sat., Jan. 9 at 8:40 a.m., Scott Fire Department was dispatched to a major vehicle crash with entrapment at the 96-mile marker on Interstate 10.

Upon arrival firefighters found a truck, pulling a trailer, upside down in the median with one person trapped inside.

Firefighters quickly stabilized the vehicle and began to extricate the victim utilizing specialized hydraulic rescue equipment.

The victim was extricated and transported to a local hospital to be checked for injuries. None of the four occupants in the vehicle appeared to suffer life-threatening injuries. Louisiana State Police is investigating the cause of the accident.

Please avoid traveling on the interstate (East and West), as cleanup will take the majority of the day.
