Project Outline
Installation: Sept 15 - Oct 13
Location: 1444 Highway 758, Eunice LA
Artist: Hannah Gumbo
Commissioned by: Darrel Smith & his siblings

Project Summary
This project is commissioned by Darrell Smith & his siblings to honor their family roots through
an upcoming 43 ft. barn mural. This memorial tribute will depict the life of their Dad, Calvin
Smith, on the very barn he built with the help of his neighbors & family in 1962. Our goal is to
celebrate the heritage of this land while breathing some fresh life & color into this vintage
structure located just outside of Eunice in an area known as “Faiquetaique.” The family still lives
on this private land surrounding the barn & welcomes guests & visitors upon the mural’s
completion on Oct 13.
