UPDATE: Woman charged, victim identified in early Monday homicide in Lafayette

The victim was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries.

LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) - A woman has turned herself in for an early Monday morning homicide in Lafayette.

Dawn Harris, 49, turned herself in Wednesday night about 9 p.m.

She is charged with second-degree murder.

According to a LPD release, officers were called to the 400 block of Haig Street shortly before 1 a.m. Monday.

There, they found Joseph Zeno, 53, of Lafayette, who had been shot.

He was taken to the hospital for treatment but later died. 

Investigators with the Lafayette Police Department are asking anyone with information about the homicide to call Lafayette Police or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
