Lafayette, La. - UPDATE: Investigators with the Lafayette Police Department were able to gain enough information to obtain an arrest warrant for Jamyron Magee, 19, of Angie, La.
On Nov. 5, agents with the Western District of Louisiana United States Marshal’s Violent Offender Task Force were able to take Mr. Magee into custody without incident.
Mr. Magee is charged with 2 counts of First Degree Murder and 2 counts of Attempted First Degree Murder.
He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
Investigators with the Lafayette Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance with the collection of videos or photos from the incident that occurred at Moore Park in the early morning hours of October 15.

On October 15, 2020 at approximately 1:00 am, officers with the Lafayette Police Department responded to a disturbance in Moore Park. The caller indicated there had been shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located four victims all suffering from gunshot wounds. First aid measures were conducted by officers and Acadian Ambulance personnel prior to the victims being transported to a local hospital.
The investigation revealed that there was a large crowd gathered at Moore Park after the UL football game. A fight began amongst the crowd, and a short time later there were gunshots. Two victims, Jakyrie Clark, 19 of Lafayette and Nathaniel Sharply, 18 of Lafayette succumbed to their injuries. Another victim was transported to a local hospital where she was treated and released while the last victim was listed in stable condition once arriving at the hospital. The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. This investigation is ongoing.
