LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. (KADN) - The entire Lafayette Parish School System will be on virtual learning plan Tuesday, May 18.

The change is due to flooding and bad weather.

According to a release from LPSS, teachers will communicate with students about assignments.

"If students do not have a device at home and are unable to complete assignments, time will be allotted to make up the missed work without penalty once schools open."

School-based administrators, custodians and cafeteria managers are required to report to school sites.

LPSS district offices will be closed, but essential personnel will still report to work.

"Employees should report to work only when it is safe to do so and should contact their immediate supervisor if unable to report."
