LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) - A woman is dead following an early morning shooting at a Lafayette apartment complex.
According to the Lafayette Police Department, officers were called to the 300 block of McDonald Street about 2:30 a.m. on May 15.
When they got there, they found a woman, identified as Jennifer Hurst, 18, slumped inside a vehicle. She was shot multiple times.
According to LPD, she was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
After interviewing witnesses, investigators identified the suspect as the woman's boyfriend, Lucas Williams, 19, of Lafayette.
He turned himself in to officers. Williams is charged with second-degree murder.
Williams was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
