LAFAYETTE – Lafayette Utility Services and the leaders of multiple local parishes announced a fiber service expansion Thursday.
The $3.1 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration will fund the project along the U.S. 90 corridor.
LUS and parish leaders say it’s a great resource to bounce back from pandemic losses. They also hope it will expand the technology sector beyond the city limits of Lafayette.
The fiber expansion project is expected to generate $26 million through private investments.
