LPSS has once again received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from theGovernment Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensiveannual financial report (CAFR). The district’s 2019-2020 report was judged by an impartial panel to meetthe high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure"to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.The Certificate of

Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accountingand financial reporting and demonstrates highly effective accounting and business management by LPSS.This year, LPSS has been further honored by its CAFR being selected by the Association of SchoolBusiness Officials (ABSO) as one of only a few submissions (out of 563 total) to be shared on its websiteas a resource and example of how to prepare an effective financial report.

“We take great pride in maintaining high standards for financial reporting,” says LPSS AssistantSuperintendent of Business Services Matt Dugas. “To receive a Certificate of Achievement is a greataccomplishment, and then to also be one of the few entries selected out of the hundreds submitted tobe an example for other school districts — it’s just a tremendous honor and a credit to our team’s hardwork and supportive leadership."
