LDH: 12,494 new COVID cases reported since Jan. 10, 29 new deaths

That brings the state's totals to 949,941 cases and 15,102 deaths from the virus since the pandemic began.

BATON ROUGE (KADN) - The Louisiana Department of Health reports 12,494 new COVID-19 cases and 29 new deaths since its last report on January 10.

That brings the state's totals to 949,941 cases and 15,102 deaths from the virus since the pandemic began.

LDH said that statewide, 1,905 people are hospitalized for COVID treatment. 98 are on ventilators. 77% of those hospitalized are not fully vaccinated.

In Region 4, which includes seven of the nine Acadiana parishes, 1,323 new cases and 8 new deaths were reported.
