LCA & Acadiana Push to Repeat

Lafayette, LA (KADN) -- The road to repeat is rolling through Christmas week.  LCA trying to win its 4th straight state title.  It would be the Knights' second in Division III.  The Wreckin' Rams pushing for back to back titles after winning in 2019.   Experience from last season matters for both teams.  However, their opponents, Alexandria and St. Charles,  aren't just going to hand them the state title trophy.

"First of all we are extremely excited but overly excited to be playing Christmas break," Lafayette Christian head coach Jacarde Carter said.

" I think us even during the quarantine we were all out here working hard and we wall brought our grit," Lafayette Christian kicker Louie Davies said. "It is just good to show everyone that we are who we are."

Acadiana battles Alexandria in the state title game in 5A football.

"It would be great for these guys and it would be great for this senior group," Acadiana head football coach Matt McCullough said. "They have really worked hard. Hopefully, we can go out there and have a good week of practice and compete hard."

Acadiana beat LCA earlier this season, but just about every coach in this area says after the regular season we root for each other to take home the title.
