As Covid-19 precautions become less restrictive , restaurants are starting to see an increase in customers. One here in Lafayette has expanded their business to new heights to make a better experience for people.
Kok Wings and Things are expecting a large crowd during their grand opening of the expansion. Some of their reservations for tables have already sold out.
“At this point we are not allowing the capacity to go past what's allowed at seating. Everything is seating capacity only or reservations which are still seating, so you will be only with the people you came with.” Tre'jan Vinson Said.
With Covid-19 transforming the hustle around Acadiana, the local wing spot is pushing through with new innovations to help spread customers out.
“We realized an open air space was needed, and this concept was born maybe last year and drawing up sketched up, argued about, talked about multiple perspectives giving into it until we finally came together and was like it has to be very vibrant and it has to attract people.” Tre'jan Vinson Said.
As things get closer to normal, healthcare officials are hoping that residents are still cautious when going out.
“You don't necessarily need to wear a mask if you have been fully vaccinated unless you're going to be in a crowded situation where again you are in close contact with people for a long period of time where there can be transmission. That is really the key.” Dr. Tina Stefanski Said.
Kok Wings and Things will not allow standing room at this time and they plan to keep that in effect until herd immunity is reached. Click here for more information on their guidlines.
