Alysson Boruque, Author of the Aly cat Series, joined News 15 at Noon to share todays Kid Lit Pick: Who Are Our Heroes by Eliana Melmed.

This timely, rhyming picture book highlights the everyday heroes who make it possible for society to continue to function during this time of crisis. It includes mail carriers, teachers, grocery store workers, doctors, truck drivers, maintenance staff, and caretakers. And at the story ends with a reminder that when children wash their hands and social distance, they themselves are heroes, too.

Written from the perspective of a young child spending time indoors, the story focuses on the incredible individuals who continue to contribute their time, effort, and resources to ensure that life can continue to go on. This story is a must-read for all ages.

Great story for adults to empathized with children and see how life radically changed for them in an instant and an intuitive story for children to learn about those adults risking their lives to take care of them.

This book received a glowing review by Readers' Favorite and won a gold Mom’s Choice Award just this week!
Jennifer Garner recently highlighted this book on her "Save With Stories" social media account with Jamie Lee Curtis reading it on both Facebook and Instagram.
"As the virus continues its deadly momentum and ferocity, those same front line heroes who held the line earlier this year are doing so with the same dedication and talent and professionalism and selflessness right now. This book is a great way to support them." – Jamie Lee Curtis
