Body found in Breaux Bridge identified as Lafayette woman, homicide investigation underway

Deputies determined that a female subject was the victim of multiple gunshot wounds, and the incident is being investigated as a homicide.

ST. MARTINVILLE, LA - On Monday, August 30, 2021, at approximately 3:25 a.m., Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in reference to a body that was located in the 1500 block of Mills Hwy., in Breaux Bridge, LA.

Upon initial investigation, Deputies determined that a female subject was the victim of multiple gunshot wounds, and the incident is being investigated as a homicide. Deputies identified the victim as Nicole Hamilton, 42, Lafayette, LA.

No further information is available at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
