Hilliard Art Museum Hosting A Virtual Play Day For Families

Posted: Jun 4, 2021 3:59 PM

Buzz & Bloom! The Hilliard Art Museum’s Summer 2021 Online Play Day, launching on June 12, is a celebration of art and nature. Current exhibition and summer related activities and downloadable content will be posted to the Hilliard’s website for all ages to enjoy. Inspired by current exhibitions such as the vibrant flower photographs and honeycomb murals in Nancy Macko’s The Fragile Bee, the activities and videos will encourage exploration and wonder. See what’s happening in the beehive at Berchmans Academy, learn about the Acadiana Native PlantProject, and enjoy story time with the Lafayette Parish Public Library. Or do a pollinator dance with the Acadiana Center for the Arts. The Bee Bunch of Acadiana Girl Scout Troop and The Urban Naturalist have teamed up to create pollinator garden starter kits.

The free pollinator kits can be picked up at The Urban Naturalist on June 12, 2021 while supplies last. Community partners for this event include Acadiana Center for the Arts, Acadiana Native Plant Project, The Bee Bunch of Acadiana Girl Scout Troop 109, Berchmans Academy, Lafayette Parish Public Library, The Urban Naturalist. Play Day events are free and open to the public, and available online at HilliardMuseum.org.

About the Hilliard Art Museum
