Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco Historical Marker Unveiling in New Iberia

Gov. John Bel Edwards and Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser will join state and local dignitaries in honoring Louisiana’s first female governor and New Iberia native, former Gov. Kathleen Blanco.

NEW IBERIA, La. - Gov. John Bel Edwards and Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser will join state and local dignitaries in honoring Louisiana’s first female governor and New Iberia native, former Gov. Kathleen Blanco.

The unveiling of her state historical marker will be located at Bouligny Plaza, 128 W. Main St. in downtown New Iberia. The Bayou Teche Museum invites all to attend this dedication on Wed., May 12 at 3:30 p.m. A new exhibit dedicated to Blanco is in the works at the museum.
