Eunice Police Investigates Early Morning Shooting

Eunice, LA. – UPDATE: Eunice Police have identified the victim of the early morning Christmas shooting as 31 year old Tommy Lee Williams of Ville Platte.

Clifford Isaiah Campbell, 20, of Eunice has been arrested and will be charged with Second Degree Murder.

The incident was the result of a domestic dispute. The incident is still under investigation and more charges and another arrest are likely.

According to Chief of Police, Randy Fontenot, officers with the Eunice Police Department, responded to a call of a shooting in the 400 block of Corn Street at 2:45AM Friday, December 25, 2020. Officers, upon arrival, discovered the body of an Evangeline Parish man, age 31, lying in the front yard of the residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the man is being withheld pending notification of the family. Further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
