Elton Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault Among Other Charges

Deputies were dispatched to Tietje road and Doise Road in reference to a vehicle in ditch on May 1, 2021.

Deputies were dispatched to Tietje road and Doise Road in reference to a vehicle in ditch on May 1, 2021. When deputies arrived the vehicle had already been removed from the ditch. Dispatch advised deputies the victim was at Elton auto. The complainant reported to deputies he was headed to town to pick up some parts for some equipment he had purchased. While driving on Tieje road, someone in a black jeep flipped him off and proceeded to run him off the road. The complainant said the man walked up to his truck and began asking who he was and who he worked for. The complainant said the man punched him in the face and tried to pull him out of the truck. The man drove away in a black jeep.

Deputies had noticed a black Jeep at a residence on Tietje Road and identified it as belonging to a Brandon Ortego, 42, of Elton. Ortego was located a short time later and taken into custody for Aggravated Assault, Simple Battery, Resisting an Officer and Alcoholic Beverage in Motor Vehicle. Ortego also had two outstanding contempt warrants.
