On December 20, 2020,Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Deputy observed two four wheelers on Patoutville Road driving reckless by passing vehicles and cane trucks with on coming vehicles when one of the four wheelers crashed. IPSO Deputy observed the unknown driver jumped on the second bike and take off. IPSO Deputy observed the four wheeler fleeing the scene west on Patoutville Road. IPSO Deputy followed the four wheeler with lights and sirens, but the 4-wheeler driver refused to stop. Later the driver and the bike were located at the 4800 block of Guillot Road. IPSO Deputy placed the driver under arrest. The driver identified as Devontra Henderson (22 years old) was arrested for the following charges:

LA RS14:99 Reckless Operation

LA RS32:299. Off Road Vehicle on Roadway

He was booked into the parish jail without incident.

Iberia Parish Sheriff Tommy Romero stated this has been an ongoing problem within the parish. Iberia Parish Deputies are addressing issues with regards to these vehicles on the roadway, as well as, confronting issues local sugar farmers have regarding these vehicles trespassing on private property. Those individuals not obeying the law will charged accordingly.
