Crowley - Police with the Crowley Police Department make arrest in several cases. Several cases are now put to rest with the suspected criminals behind bars. Today Crowley Police released details of arrest made on several big cases dating back to May. Read the releases below.
On Tuesday, May 11, 2021, Suspect Christian Thomas threatened a subject he knew with a firearm. When the subject returned to the residence on W 12th Street to ask Suspect Thomas why he had threatened him, Suspect Thomas began firing rounds and the subject's vehicle, striking the vehicle four times. The victim driving the vehicle, sped away, escaping having been struck by the gunfire. This incident involved an ongoing dispute that was not gang related.
Suspect Christian Thomas was arrested on a warrant for one count of attempted second degree murder.
On Tuesday, June 8, 2021, officers responded to W Northern Ave, where a shooting had taken place moments prior to officer arrival. Through investigation, it was discovered that Suspect James O'Neal had shot through the window and struck one female victim through the back of the head. The victim survived the shooting and wash rushed to Acadia General for treatment. The victim was later airlifted and treated in Lafayette for wounds she incurred during the shooting. Suspect O'Neal was believed to have been targetting the male subject inside the residence but the bullets struck the girlfriend of the male subject instead.
A warrant was issued for Suspect James O'Neal on Thursday, July 22, 2021 and O'Neal was arrested the same day for two counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder.
On Saturday, June 26, 2021, officers of the Crowley Police Department responded to E Clay Street for a shooting, where Suspect Keenan Charles-Moore drove by a residence shooting at two victims. The incident was determined to be a a retaliatory shooting committed against subjects he had previously been acquainted with. The suspect in this shooting shot muttiple rounds from a forty calibery weapon, which instigated an additional retaliatory shooting the following day.
On the afternoon of Wednesday, July 21, 2021, suspect Keenan Charles-Moore was arrested on a warrant for two counts of attempted first degree murder.
On Sunday, June 27, 2021, officers from Crowley Police Department responded to W 12th Street, where there had been a shooting the previous day. Through investigation, it was discovered Suspect Christopher Moore Jr had shot at a vehicle containing fives subjects, including two small children, that was believed to have been used the previous day in a shooting at the same location. The vehicle was occupied by the girlfriend of the suspect that had shot at Moore the previous day. The vehicle was struck multiple times by a forty caliber firearm, narrowly missing a toddler in the backseat.
Suspect Christopher Moore Jr was arrested on a warrant on the evening of Wednesday, July 21, 2021 by officers of the Crowley Police Department's patrol division.
On Tuesday, July 13, 2021, Crowley Police Department responded to a call from Baton Rouge, LA, from a mother of a thirteen year old female that had been communicating with Suspect Austin Duhon, age nineteen, from Crowley LA, through a social media application on her cellular device. Duhon allegedly threatened to release child pornography involving the juvenile unless she willingly surrendered the control of her social media application to him. Duhon allegedly followed through with at least a portion of the threat, by sending child pornography involving the juvenile victim electronically to at least one other person.
Detectives from the Crowley Police Department conducted an investigation into the incident and arrested Duhon on an arrest warrant on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Duhon was booked into the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Department.
