Better Business Bureau Serving Acadiana celebrates National Consumer Protection Week, February 28th – March 6th, by partnering with the Federal Trade Commission for a webinar on March 3rd.

According to FTC.gov, “National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW) is a time to help people understand their consumer rights and make well-informed decisions about money.”

The webinar will feature Southwest Regional Federal Trade Commission Director Dama Brown, and FTC investigator Kelly Slaughter. Both are very experienced in protecting consumers and will share their tools with Acadiana residents to avoid fraud, identity theft, and scams.

BBB CEO Jillian Dickerson says, “Empowering our Acadiana community begins with educating and providing consumers with accurate information and resources. We are thrilled to collaborate with the FTC to help consumers make well-informed decisions in the marketplace.”

The virtual presentation will be held Wednesday, March 3rd at 11 a.m. Residents can register for the event at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/national-consumer-protection-week-webinar-tickets-142022108951. Information on the event is also available on the BBB of Acadiana Facebook page.

The event is free, open to the public and all are invited to attend this important educational opportunity to protect yourself and loved ones from prevalent scams and fraudulent behavior.
